What You Will Do
- Develop conceptual and detailed design of marine equipment, piping systems, and mechanical packages (static/rotating equipment, HVAC, deck machinery, cranes).
- Apply industry codes and standards (API, ASME, ANSI, ASTM, NFPA) to ensure safety and compliance.
- Analyze and improve performance of pumps, generators, compressors, and hydraulic systems.
- Create, review, and finalize technical drawings, specifications, and budgets for new installations.
- Evaluate offshore structure integrity, environmental load responses, and hydrodynamic conditions.
- Investigate equipment failures and recommend remedial actions.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
- Experience: 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design within the marine/offshore oil & gas sector (FPSO, drillships, or jackups).
- Software Proficiency: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar 3D modeling software, along with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
- Codes & Standards: Thorough knowledge of ASME, API, and ABS standards.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and clients.
- Licensure: Professional Engineer (PE) License (preferred) or capability to acquire.
